Abstract

Construction projects carry a high risk of workplace accidents, making the implementation of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) critical to ensuring both worker safety and productivity. However, workers’ awareness of OSH and their participation in formal training remain limited. This study aims to analyze the effect of OSH awareness and training on the productivity of construction workers at the Bedali Hills housing project in Lawang, Malang. This study employs a descriptive quantitative method using a multiple linear regression analysis approach. Data were collected via a questionnaire administered to 100 respondents, including project managers, supervising consultants, field supervisors, foremen, and workers. Data analysis was conducted using validity and reliability tests, t-tests, F-tests, and the coefficient of determination (R²). The results indicate that OSH awareness and training have a positive and significant effect on worker productivity, both partially and simultaneously. The calculated F-value of 207.810 with a significance level of 0.000 (< 0.05) and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.811 indicate that these two variables explain 81.1% of the variation in productivity, while the remaining 18.9% is influenced by other factors. Thus, increased OSH awareness and training have been proven to foster a safe and productive work culture. Management is advised to continuously strengthen OSH training programs.
